How to Apply

  • Pass the Eligibility Questionnaire. For new applicants, and those with existing accounts, click Apply and follow the instructions.
  • Submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). Once the Questionnaire is complete, you will be directed to your account page where you can complete and submit a LOI. Once the LOI has been reviewed, if the submission indicates a potential fit with the Foundation’s priorities, applicants will be invited to submit a formal proposal. In the instance of a declined Letter of Inquiry, applicants must wait one year to reapply. During any phase of the application process, any institution may request a withdrawal of its application. The LOI review process can take approximately 3 months.
  • Complete a Formal Proposal. Once the Foundation has invited you to submit a formal proposal, please use the online submission form on your account page (the e-invite provides a link to this form). Applicants should complete in full all sections of the proposal, and attach all necessary components. Proposals not chosen for Board review will receive an immediate letter of declination. Proposals chosen for Board review will be notified of the Board’s decision. During this review period the Foundation may call your institution if any further information is needed and/or to schedule a site visit. The formal proposal review process can take approximately 3 months.

Grant Acknowledgement Guidelines

  • There is an e-signature requirement for all grants made. The Foundation does not accept hard copy grant acknowledgements. E-signature guidelines are also outlined on the Grant Award letter. Please note, your e-signature should be received within 30 days of receipt of the grant.

Reporting Guidelines

  • All grantees are required to submit an end-of-year grant report. Please log in to your account, locate the report under the Requirements tab, complete and submit. Reporting guidelines are also outlined on the Grant Award letter. Please note, your grant report must be received prior to any new Letter of Inquiry being submitted.
